Smaller is better, but I’d take them all if it meant I was saving them

I love them all, but I would get a Shih Tzu as I can only manage small dogs.

I like the black and white Maltese dogs. I had one for many years and she was my fur baby, but very sadly passed away when she was 14 years old and I still miss her terribly.
·
Grommie
look the other way, Grommie.... but the dog most people chose is the one that needs the greatest amount of exercise. Oh and it's the most intelligent... sorry Grommie, you are a hound after all and hounds aren't known for their brilliance.
·

I would love a border yet I couldn't manage the daily runs they need and all the grooming . I quite like the stout little white Scotties or the very popular and sweet cavoodle, or a staffy .

I would try to get a Jack Russell. They are a smart breed and not large. Adorable too.

Something I can see, all those little dogs don't have such poise as what we used call "monkey tails",very elegant.

I don’t really know much about dog breeds so I chose the one that needed less attention.

None, I’d get a Staffordshire bull terrier or a pit bull. Nurture over nature!

None actually, I'm a cat person! All the dogs we've had have been awful!

Hanno.
1 lousy point for number one. I think it may be an Australian Sheep dog which is similar to a Border Collie. I can't have any pets as I live alone in a unit and it takes me all of my time to look after myself let alone look after a pet.
·
Paul J 94868
I can relate...

Irish Wolfhound please

None of those. My last two dogs were rescue dogs from the RSPCA.

At 78, I am reluctant to bring an animal into my home that will outlive me and for which I may not be able to care for properly. Not fair to the little beast.
·

Option 5 NONE. no room in small courtyard for animal of any sort

You can't go past a border collie, honest and true. I told a lie before, it did try to rain just now.
·
Linda B 907610
Teacup Pomeranian for me please.
·
Joe B 288252
If I wanted a dog I’d prolly rescue a greyhound or whippet from the racing crowd
·

A friend of mine does that.

Breeds don’t shed please. Had the smartie golden retrievers, active spaniels, cutie pugs but sweeping the floors daily and everything covered in dog hairs anyway.

Maybe the next poll should cover the fact that dog owner's dog breed is reflected in what type of dog they own. How about that ?
·
Elizabeth T 396096
I love those pictures where the owner looks like their dog they are so funny and can be revealing
·

I would never buy a dog when there are so many in need of loving homes already in shelters.

Rescue is the best option as you are saving a life.

I have a 14 year old English Cocker Spaniel. He is in good shape and we go for 3 walks a day in the woods. All the dogs were adorable but I like an active dog who loves walking, swimming and playing.

Have only had 2 puppies in my life. Both were given to us. 1st one was actually our son's but when he moved out Jerry Lee stayed with us. This past December I received a St Bernard puppy for my birthday from the same son!

I was very close to picking the popular choice but couldn't resist the smile on the Corgi. Of course I'd prefer my Goldendoodle:)

My little girl is nearly 16 years old and terminal. She is a cross Papillon/Maltese and the loveliest of animals. Never drawn blood on anyone, loves children and especially babies and has been the best mate ever. Prefer dogs to humans frankly. However, I am now old also so getting another dog is no longer an option once she is gone.
