4 pts. Just been talking to Mr Singh, my vodka provider, he's growing mangoes in this alleged subtropical climate. (The vodka is for my homemade limoncello.)

With the temperature at my house today, certainly don't think there's much chance of my growing a pineapple any time soon.

everyone loves grapes and bananas

These are all very great fruits and hard choices to pick just one. Being a gardener is one thing, but having the acreage, resources to maintain an orchard is something else. Yet 1point for 1fruit is okay.

Got a Pineapple plant in a pot from my cousin. Put it in the ground when I got my own house and it went crazy. Got 2 Pineapples from it & got about 4 Pineapple plants out of it to give to other people

1Growing pineapple used to have bananas but wind blew tree over. :(
·
Hanno.
4 points for bananas. We had them years ago and they virtually grew themselves.
·
Manel 1271300
That’s true Hanno! They grow so wild. After sometime you can’t stop them. We too had them but not now!
·
Danielle R 478487
Hi Hanno, just wondering, did you have any problems with possums or bat's when you had banana trees? If so what did you do to deter them.( we have both here).
·
Paula J 395266
I'd love to grow bananas but not just any bananas, the tiny little ones you can buy in Asia or Cabramatta. I think they are called sugar bananas.

I think ,depending on where you buy them they are also called "Lady fingers".
·
Paula J 395266Danielle R 478487
No, they are much smaller than Lady Fingers. They are tiny, perhaps 2 or 3 inches long, but so very sweet.

I grew a couple of nectarine trees. The fruit was yummy and tasted nothing like what you buy in the supermarkets. Lemons was another tree. Again, juicy and delicious.
