I chose maths. I got 7 points that a start. now 7 x 7 equals 49. I know some maths as long as it is not trigganomitry or something.

Ironic, isn't it...that in high-school I couldn't see ...or care ...about how the Treaty of Versailles and the Hawley-Smoot tariffs fiasco fed the vortex of economic recession into the Great Depression, the rise of exteme political movements in response to "Make Germany Great Again"... the rise of Hitler...legally elected and then able to change the German Constitution to entrench himself....leading to the outbreak of World War II. History does indeed repeat itself. This time it is unlikely to become a shooting conflict. One man in a gaudily gilded White House will just do an economic ""George Floyd" on the necks of entire nations until they "can't breathe " and capitulate. World Domination with not a shot being fired. Who could have seen this coming? Yeah.... ...everyone who listened in class as I hadn't. What didn't matter then...matters greatly now.

History, this is a true story. 2nd year high school took it in turn to stand out in front of class and have history questions fired at you. To this day I do not know how I was able to correctly answer approx 10 questions correctly one after the other ... was actually glad to be able to sit down before I fell over from being unbeliebably overwhelmed .. sorry not bragging just reminising!!

i used to watch millionaire hot.seat.contestants had absolutely no idea about general knowledge or what was on news or in paper. Now we have tipping point with same thing dumb clucks and how did they manage to get on show
·

The general public contestants send in an application, some then get a phone or video call interview and test quiz, if they get past that then they are invited to the studio for another test, and finally into the pool for selection to appear on TV.
For the celebrity versions, the celebrities are simply chosen by the show's makers and invited to take part. Some accept and some decline.
For either version, contestants are largely chosen for their entertainment value and personalities, rather than their ability to win the quiz. There are some exceptions though - shows like Mastermind, University Challenge, and Egg Heads are more serious and more quiz-sided.
In the UK quiz show "The Chase", one of the former contestants was later invited to become one of the show's regular Chasers and its spin-off "Beat the Chasers".
