Yes...I spent 40 years in the police service in Canada. I thought it a noble calling. Tried to do good but know that's a subjective view of what is "good". Would I do it again? Yes. Likely so. It was never about guns, badges, authority or power. Never shot anyone but certainly had many justifiable situations where I could have ...and maybe even should have...but I came out of the hippie era...I was a "Peace Officer", there to help and do what was "Right". Nobody goes into policing to become wealthy. Well paid? Generally speaking, a decent living wage but we had some lean times ... when there wasn't a discarded beer bottle at the side of the road that was safe! Trained as a journalist and teacher, I worked for a major Canadian daily newspaper but decided I could do more with my life than write the first draft of history. I could change it for someone. Glad I tried. Hope I did.

Wouldn't want any of them, picked judge as could then give longer sentences to those that need it with a longer non parole period as child molesters, paedophile, murderers etc seem to get out too quick. People that embezzle seem to serve longer time. The legal system in Australia is crap
