We do,i have asked my wife if she wants a dryer and a dishwasher,not interested in either

Yes we do. We had a dryer our lovely tenants managed to render it useless so we now refuse to have one and in sunny QLD who needs one? Although todays a bit cloudy but we aren't washing today. We also can hang washing in the garage if we need which is rarely and only if the line is full. May have a larger load especially blankets or some thing like that. Yes the clothes, sheets, towels, smell so good after drying in the sunshine and I love folding them up and putting them away in our new linen cupboard and new walk in robe. So much more room.

I am very pleased to say that although my yard is very, very small there is still room for my washing line, clothes smell so much better when dried outside.

I wish I could do that in the place where I live. It’s one of the best way to have fresh and smell free clothes.

It is the only way to go, where possible. I never ever had a dryer and only use an indoor clothes rack when it rains.

Am 100% with you Debra, I actually turn everything inside out so the fluffy sides dry and delay fading. In the winter or wet days I use coat hangers and hand from the shelving running the full length of the room, save dashing out to grab the clothes off the line before the rain comes.

We do here and actually got rid of the electric dryer because it never got used.

We do my wife only uses the dryer maybe a couple of times a year. Our clothes line is covered by our roof so we don't have to worry about the rain.

If the weather is nice I always hang my washing out. I agree the freshness that it provides is the best!

Love hanging the laundry out. We live in Canada, so the winters are quite challenging, so i use the clothes lines in the basement. No dryer by choice, and zero regrets!!!! I was just talking to my Mom about this-I remember as a kid the sound of frozen sheets cracking and sweaters coming in looking ridiculous. Towels get crunchy on the line . Melbourne's weather is too erratic most days and having to get home in time before it rains or the wind blows things off and over the fence is bothersome. If it's nice an x hot and I have managed to get the damn spiderwebs cleared off my line I will hang sheets or a doona ,but having a bad neck I don't like looking up and pegging up a myriad of little items .. love my dryer and if folded straight out of ,pretty much ironed as well!!

I love hanging my clothes and other laundry out to dry in the fresh air which makes it smell nice naturally. Even during the winter I hang out my clothes as much as I can. Sometimes it freezes on me but it warms up and unthaws and eventually dries. I only dry in a dryer at the laundromat if the weather is really severe. Hanging on a line is great for the environment and easier on the electricity bills.

Fewer people in the western countries do, perhaps, but go to the poorer ones and it should still be prevalent.

I hang them out whenever it's not raining, most things seem to shrink in the dryer these days and they do use a lot of electricity.

Mine are drying rack in bathtub shower. Because cab not afford laundry mat so the old fashioned hand wash.

My wife does and due to her OCD she has to use the same colour pegs and socks hang with socks, etc.

On the line. I always check the hourly weather forecast. Never use the dryer. I finish the washing off in the hot water cupboard. Use rack indoors too.

I dry almost everything on the line or on a clothes rack as the majority of my clothes would get damaged in a dryer. I only really use the dryer for towels.

I do hang it on outside line and don't own a clothes dryer. If raining, its in the shed or porch or an airer inside. Think some things like towels come out fluffier and softer if dried in a drier tho?

LOL! Memories! When I was young, my first studio apartment had a wringer washer (down stairs in a small room), and a clothes line. I broke so many buttons putting shirts through the ringer wrong! I hated hanging clothes on the line! The birds pooped on them, because they sat on the clothes line, the wind blew dirt on them, and they were so stiff, they could stand on their own! I haven't hung my clothes on a line outside in a while but I always love to hang my sheets and blankets on the line. Love the smell after drying in the wind.

Hang mine out all the time, under cover if raining. In winter still hang out but bring them inside & put them in a warm airconditioned room to finish off.

I've never owned a dryer - it's an unnecessary initial expense, plus the ongoing cost of running it. Throughout most of Australia, washing dries outside year-round. I live in a flat & hang it on my balcony. The council forbids it, yet everyone does it. Everyone I know owns a folding line to dry things indoors when it's rainy.

With the price of Electricity, I even hang my husband out to dry!

In my area I am the one. I do it because I barely have room for my washing machine and none for a dryer.

I do it. It's very common in Brazil. And super hot weather makes our clothes dry very fast.

I used to 30-40 years ago, but the air isn't so fresh around here anymore and if I have to hang anything it's going to be in my basement over a nylon rope or on my metal collapsible rack in my bedroom. Mostly use the dryer for all but delicates, blankets, afghans, duvets, etc.
