Discussion of the Day
Let's talk about breakfast!
Victoria 1322770Oct 18, 23
We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. What did you have for breakfast? Did you eat at home, at school, at work, in the car, in a restaurant, where? What part of the world do you live in? Is your breakfast a typical breakfast in your part of the world?

I read that breakfast ,means to break the fast. That means the first meal after rising is breakfast be it 6 am or 1pm. So theoretically every one eats breakfast at some time of day. Personally I eat 2 lightly fried eggs at about 7am with a glass of warm milk

Go for it Maree. Take care and have a great day. x 馃槃

What breakfast. "Cup of tea or coffee and a smoke, till i have a pie for lunch. very simple

Non-English speakers marvel when they hear the saying, "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Breakfast for adults is not considered as important throughout most of the world.

That is not true Sir / madam . When we grew up back in the Island. We never marvel about breakfast, or having breakfast. We simply do not eat breakfast, but if you are given something to eat, you take it and eat it
          • misfortune8Tupulua S
The marvel was not about breakfast but at the saying, as proven by your claim of not eating breakfast.

Caviar on toast with Truffles as a back up if they are in season. Nice.

In spring/ summer, 2 Weetbix with fruit & a glass of fruit juice - in autumn/winter, a bowl of porridge with cream & brown sugar and a glass of fruit juice. I used to have toast but I went off it for some reason.

I live in Christchurch NZ and I would love to know what a typical breakfast is. In the week days I have two Weetabix with cold stewed fruit and a glass of hot milo. In the weekend I have toast and hot milo. Sometimes as a special treat it is bacon and eggs. Breakfast has always been the first light meal of the day for me. I hope that helps.

I guess by "typical breakfast" I meant something like miso soup is commonly eaten for breakfast in Japan, but not so commonly eaten in Canada, for instance. :)

I had a sesame bagel with cream cheese & hot lemon herbal tea, at home. My husband had scrambled eggs, an English muffin, & blueberries at home. We live in the U.S. I think we eat typical breakfasts.

My breakfast is: smoke a cigarette and drink juice. It's not typical of any place that I've lived

I have a banana that I share part with my rabbit, then a mug of coffee and a smoke, keeps me going for quite a while. On an odd occasion I might have a bowl of cereal or 1or 2 slices of toast. I'm in Sydney Australia.

Breakfast is between 10 and 11 ish. Coffee with 1) bran muffin or 2) oatmeal with strawberries, banana and toast (if very hungry) at home in Canada (prairies).

I eat at home and on the lighter side, it's a bagel or toast, and a more filling breakfast would be a skillet or tofu scramble and fried potatoes. It's typical in my part of the world, except for the tofu lol :) Although, plant based is more common now,

I usually have scrambled eggs and toast. Sometimes I also have grits, bacon or a pastry.

I always have oatmeal with fruit and a two egg omelette with cheese and sliced fresh mushroom. My hubby prepares this for me every day, God bless him.

This morning, I had chocolate protein powder-banana pancakes and back bacon. My husband works at night tonight so we had a leisurely breakfast at home. I think most here in Canada are not cooking like this on workdays/school days, but pancakes and back bacon is pretty typical in Canada.

I live in Qld. Australia and must admit I rarely eat breakfast or even lunch. If I am hungry I will eat maybe porridge with fruit or a couple pieces of toast. I cannot stomach food early in the day. However, if you are a physical worker, school child etc. then yes breakfast is very important to give them the energy they will need

I would be sick if I went all day without eating.

Opposite for me. I eat when I feel like it and this could be 2am or 6pm or whatever. I really do not have a set time. I think it started when I was pregnant and then the babies came along and I was time limited and then it just became normal. I still eat healthy good food though.
