ONE MILLION!
ZingApr 29, 21
You have inherited a vast sum of money, from a senior ... family --member! Or, got lucky in the lottery's. What would you do with it?
Maybe ... travel, buy a boat, house, help out with others in the family?
Donate some of it, or even invest part, or all of it!
How exciting!
So many things you could do with a lot of money.

What a wonderful dream, not that a million is that much in todays terms. Would pay off my 2 daughters homes & give them extra cash. Put some money in the bank for my grandkids to use when they grew up and lastly do some traveling overseas if we ever are allowed out of Australia, Donate some for helping animals in need. Oh and leave some money in a special account for my funeral. :)

Invest some, donate some and get my house repainted and recurtained and of course help out my family if needed. But I wouldn't tell anyone about it if I could possibly not do so, as I want to donate to those I want to, and I wouldn't want to be deluged with please help me letters.

Money always brings out the worst in some. You could do all of the above, or you could not tell a sole and keep living your life and enjoy a few luxuries along the way, and invest for the future as the future none of us know, what’s ahead. But giving always makes you feel like you’re making a difference to someone

Religion-based Charities would be exempt from receiving any funds. 1/3 as my personal Income. On my Death I could either leave this income to a family member, with no chance of altering the original Fund or, if no family then that 1/3 would revert to the "Craig & Isobel Trust" with the management of it being equally administered by three of the Biggest Banks and three of Australia's Major Corporations. They would then share the 1/3 Income which I would have received as an incentive to make the Trust grow.

Plus I never really liked the idea of money or having a lot of it. From what I've seen it often brings out the worst in people. Yes I like to have things and travel, but I like doing it on my own and as a reward.

That money would have been life changing for me, it would not have been a lot, but it would have been enough for a house deposit and would have given my little family the ability to be more independent. Hypothetically, if i was to win $1m, i would buy a home, and make sure the rest was used for the future bills (rates, insurance, school fees, etc). That way we could use our current income for savings and those little luxuries like movie nights, dinners out, etc which we currently can't afford.

We did equal shares etc. As for me, I have made out a will and I wrote down everything I wanted i.e. who gets what and how the money is to be shared etc. No dramas that way. I have seen certain family members in other families take over and take everything. Sad people think more of money than others.

I found out that it wasn't donating anymore according to Centrelink but was now gifting, because next tax time I would have received money that Centrelink had no control over. We bought a new fridge, washer & tv in 1 day, I had to take my bank statement into Centrelink every month. Next day I got a phone call asking what we had spent so much money on - answer was I'll be glad to tell you after you've told me what you spend your money on. Apparently that's none of my business which was my reply to them. I anonymously gifted money to 1 charity, received another call & had exact repeat of previous call. I thought it was our money left to me to do as we liked & help people who needed help. We still donate our money & our time but I won't tell you who to because that's not Centrelinks business either.

But if I won Millions in a lottery I would buy 3 blocks of land together of about 10 acres each, 1 for us, 1 for our daughter and 1 for my brother. I would get them well fenced and landscaped. I would go to several vet clinics and give them money to neuter and vacinate animals and donate to wildlife funds. If I had any left over I would buy some houses and let people rent to buy them and as the money started coming back in buy some more. Might even go to some places I have never seen.
